Compare our long-term profit to any sports service in the world. In today's world, everyone can post their picks and results like we do right here every day. Why are we the ONLY handicapping service that does this?

PGN is emailed every day to subscribers by 9 a.m. (Las Vegas time), posted here the following day. We post these picks for your information. We make 1,000 bets per year and aim to at least double our bankroll every year. Your results figure to be better than ours due to your ability to shop for lines, which cannot be accounted for in this record.

Judge us by both our profit and winning percentage. One difference between full-time bettors and amateurs is their number of opinions. Keep in mind, the goal is to make money, not necessarily to tally a high percentage of wins. Professionals are only incidentally concerned with winning​ percentage. A pro will usually pull the trigger if he thinks he has about a 55%-or-more expectation of winning (see our free article Winning Percentages.)

NOTE: A betting 'unit' is NOT the amount one wins, but the amount put at risk. When risking 110 to win 100, the betting unit is 110, not 100. The amount won when risking 11 to win 10 is 91% of a unit, not a full unit.  To "keep score" and to compare apples to apples, we risk "100" on all bets, (as in 100 PERCENT). Winning ".91" when risking "1" is the same as winning 100 when risking 110.

We keep score this way because it is easier and clearer to compare our results to everyone else's. If you're varying the size of your bets and risking different amounts on different bets -- as most amateurs do -- it is costing you money.

Be aware that whether we're betting on money line underdogs or favorites, the amount we risk is exactly the same: one unit. For example, if our betting unit was $1000, we'd risk $1000 to win $670 on a -150 favorite, and we'd risk $1000 to win $1500 on a +150 underdog.
